Fanfic

I've finally written my first one-shot! Can you believe it? Me! Fiona! The writer who always writes her stories halfway or only have ideas that are never written out. Though it's only a one shot, it's still a big achievement for me. Plus, I even posted it up on LJ. Haha. :)

Guess what, it's not even a Yunjae/Jaeho. It's a Kihae! Dang! And I'm now slightly addicted to writing one shots. Probably will write more, if inspiration strikes. :)

Ok, enough about my fanfic writing. About Norway.

1 month and 9 days later, I'll be on my way to Norway! So fast! Gosh. So many things not prepared! :(

But I'm glad that the Pre-sem trip is settled already. Finally. Plane tix, hostel accomodation, train tix and rough itinery are all done and settled. :)

My sentences are really short for this post cause I need to go back to do stuff for FOC! :(

Bah! Show me some love!

Listen to DBSK's new song. Doushite kimi wo suki ni natte shimattan darou? It's great! I LOVE it! :)

Results

The results are out again! The mad rush of people trying to login into Studentlink and the page not loading has become so natural to me that I wasn't fazed at all. I just took my time.

My best results since my 2 years in NTU. But I still want to complain. I HATE MARITIME SCIENCE! And there is still a part 2! :( Sigh. MT2302 really pulled down my GPA by a lot! Really! Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating, but a 0.1 less in GPA matters to me! Especially when I'm trying so hard to pull my grades up and get at least a 2nd lower honours! BAH!

But still, overall, I think I did quite ok. But everyone around me seemed like they did well too. So, oh well. Must work harder. I've proven to myself that if I work hard, I can get good grades. Which means, I have to coop myself up in the study room. Haha!

Bonding Camp

I've finally change the music to my blog. Now my blog has 3 songs playing at random. And yes, they are Super Junior's songs. Haha! But first let me explain why I chose these 3 songs. If you realised, my MSN nick is "I Do...Marry U...Life couldn't get better...Miracle...Happiness". Technically, it's the 3 songs that I'm playing. I Do comes from Marry U. It appears in the lyrics so many times and is the only words that I can sing to. :) Life couldn't get better is the first thing you'll hear on Miracle and is the main line in the chorus too! Lastly, Happiness is the song titled Haengbok. :) Technically, I hope people get happy when they hear these songs. There are other fun songs from SuJu, but they don't fit into my nick. :( Just to clarify. So people won't keep asking me if I'm getting married!! Gosh! How is that possible?!

Anyway, to the topic that I'm supposed to talk about. Seniors' Bonding Camp. I just came back from it yesterday and I'm aching now. Haven't been exercising much!

Truthfully, I dreaded going to the camp. Why? Cause I have no friends! Bleah! Technically I was alone most of the time and had to stone. But I usually choose to walk away. Like walk to the toilet for no apparent reason. Haha! Hate this awkward feeling. It got so bad that I refused to put down the phone when Ali called me during the BBQ dinner. So I ended up crapping with her and wasting phone bill. :/

Then came the amazing race. Though it was really mini. I think I really have no stamina at all! Almost died on the first leg of the race. While running to our first station, I vomitted. Can you believe that?! Ok, technically I only vomitted cause one, my breakfast haven't settled and I ended up vomitting undigested food. And two, who the hell placed those gross things on the pavement?! While running, we say hills of wet rice that were orange in colour and a whole hill of bread. It was really gross. At first I thought someone vomitted. But it was in such a nice shape that I believe it was left there deliberately. Not only where hills of food soggy and gross looking, they had insects all over them! Grossed to the max! I'm the kind who will get goosebumps even by just looking at a bunch of ants crawling. After passing those hills, where there were at least 4 hills, I felt totally queasy. I was hoping the feeling would go away, but it didn't, so I opted for the easy way out. Vomit it all out! Haha! Glad I did, cause I did feel better after that. But that also made me look weak lah. Haha! But Zongwei carried my pouch and water bottle for me from then! Hah!

The quiz after the amazing race made me ashamed of myself. 1, I couldn't remember Prometheus's date. Even though Feijuan read the question wrongly, but it made me realise that I wasn't sure. I knew that the performance was bout 1 or 2 weeks after FOC and it's on a Friday. But I just couldn't remember the actual date! I guess that how bad I am at remembering details. Just like exams, I can remember the other points and factors but I cannot remember the main thing. Like how I remembered the conditions to the date of Prometheus, but just not the actual date. So I had to peek at the calendar to find which Friday is it. :/ Another example will be Meiyan's room number. Hah! Can you believe I got that wrong too? I can't. I know she's 4 doors away from me, but I can't remember if it was plus 4 or minus 4 from my old room number. Decided to minus which was wrong. Technically, the main errors for this was, when I was in 38, the room number is 719, which should have given me the clue that I should have added instead. Also, I dropped stuff in Meiyan's letterbox before! And I remembered peeking at her room number so that I could drop the thing in the letterbox. And also, not too long ago, during the exam period, Meiyan even called me to ask me my room number and we tried to deduce her room number. :/ Silly me. Last example. I couldn't remember Jared despite the hints Serene gave. Dang! And come to think of it, her hints were quite obvious. "Because he is very li hai, so we gave him a nickname based on it. The others might not know him, but you sure know." Sigh. I forgot the "Shen".

Also, the last game. The closing game. I felt the meaning of the game was lost when played. The throwing of the wool was ok. But when they were told to find someone whom they feel they have made friends with or had known more about, during the camp, I see many people turn to the person beside them, who were already their good friend, and tied the wool on them. Seriously, I felt that this game has very deep meaning. Though it may seem like quite a stupid and silly game, but the rationale to it and the meaning it holds is very important. It shows how much the people have gained from the camp. Our camp's motive was to bond. So from this, I doubt we bonded much. Of course, this is not the only reason that spurred me to feel that we didn't bond. As a participant, and a lonely participant, I felt that there were no bonds. People stuck to their friends and games were played to win and I would say, personal glory. Technically, I felt that quite a number of people cannot appreciate the meaning and rationale behind the games we played. The games we played were simple, but held meaning. But I don't see people understanding the meaning, which to me, is quite a pity. Maybe if possible, this kind of camp should be held earlier, so that there is more motivation to know the people. Especially since most people wouldn't know each other.

Another one to me, was one of the expectations they set in the beginning. Getting to know the strengths and weaknesses of each other. Technically, I don't think this was met. I took a backseat. I tried to observe. How do you know the strengths and weaknesses of one another if you don't attempt to sit out of your group of friends? I know this is hard, but if there is no attempt, there will never be improvement. Despite the game of human bingo, I still don't know much about other people. And that game, many people cheated. Who wouldn't? I believe that there is a better way to play that game. Probably like asking people to think of 3 things that they think is unique to them or characteristic of them, write it down and pass it to the front. Let everyone mingle and jot down the 3 things of other people. At the end of the game, when the slips of paper are read, everyone should be able to guess who is that person.

All in all, I liked the some of the games played, the rationale behind the games, but I felt disappointed with what was achieved. And I haven't even talked about other things that I wasn't satisfied with. Like the organisation of the camp and other stuff. I won't be talking about those though. I don't want this post to be a complaining post. Even though it is quite like one with my long rants. Bleah!

The next seniors camp. I'm dreading it too. It's most likely going to be more similar to FOC. Which is something that I'm not exactly looking forward to. I rather it to be similar to this bonding camp so I can think and reflect and gain something. :)

Overall, for the camp, upon 10, I'll only give it a 4. :/ I had short-lived fun. Long time disappointment. Oh well. That's just my opinion. Like it matters. :/ But just to clarify. I only gave the camp 4, not because it wasn't fun or anything, but I felt that the objectives of the camp wasn't met as I personally feel that most of the participants couldn't appreciate the rationale of the camp. Thats the big disappointment.
