Kbox

Finally another Kbox session with the sing and strum people yesterday!

Started my day with sample distribution. Pay is good 10 bucks an hour, but we only did it for 2 hours, cause we were too efficient. Should have known better. Haha. But seriously, it was kinda paiseh. Cause they made us wear this sleeveless tank top and there aren't many sizes! Gosh, made me wear S size. How can?! So tight and fitting lah! Must suck in tummy all the time. Haha.

After that, had quite a few hours before meeting the sing and strum people, so went shopping with Clarrisa, Shu Fang, Wai Mun and Jas. I know it's quite a weird combi, cause it's like, I know them, but not say close until that kind will shop together, but since we were working together, so why not? Jas had to leave after awhile to go for her hair appointment. Walked around until my legs almost break! But just as I left the company of Clarrisa and gang, and wanted to make my way to Kino to buy my Fei Lun Hai stuff, Zhikang had to call me and tell me he reach liao! Arh! So paiseh! Lo and behold, he started laughing at me from Kino all the way through the Kbox session! Arh! And he had to announce to the whole world about my idol buying spree. Haha.

Though we were all late, Zhikang, Meiyan, Jas and I still had dinner together before going for Kbox, so instead of K-ing at 7pm, we K-ed at 8.30pm instead. Zong Wei and Zihao joined us later. But seriously, they were so quiet and sang so little that they were kinda non-existent. Haha. Ok, maybe for Zong Wei not so bad, cause he sang much more than Zihao and his super dou voice, he sing all the chinese oldies very nice lah! Both Zhikang and I feel that with some technique, Zong Wei will make a good singer. He has a very wide range lah!

I went totally crazy during Kbox, though not as crazy as the previous time I went with Taijie and Zhikang, but crazy enough. Voice couldn't open up. Haha. Direct translation. Maybe cause laughed too much or something. Haha. Couldn't really reach all the slightly higher ones. Songs that I never had problem with, sounds strained. Haha. Needed warm ups man. But one thing good about it, it allowed me to go low. Wootz! Sang Lian Ai Ping Lu's guy's part, no problem! All the guys song that I sang, no problem! It was only later in the session that my voice was warmed up and was able to sing the high notes. Really love to sing Ah mei's Wo Wu Suo Wei! Very nice to biao! When people started to leave one by one, leaving only me and Zhikang, the 2 of us, went extreme. I started all the high and happy and slightly faster or songs with more tempo, he started to sing all the sad ballads. Haha. And we alternated. So its like one second high, the next moment silent and peaceful. And let me announce again. I so love Zhikang's voice! Ah! Very nice when he sang all the ballads!

Anyway, I really had fun at Kbox, hope we can do it more often. Haha. Whee!

Seniors Camp

I'm back from Seniors Camp. Personally, I didn't think it was super fun. It's like no one was in the really hyped up mood, everyone played half-heartedly, the games had quite a bit of flaws and it was always raining. And I seriously don't like to play couple games. One, cause I'm heavy and couple games usually requires the guy to carry the gal in one way or another. And this time I pity Jiaxi, cause he was unlucky enough to partner me. Not very shou with him. Don't really know him well, we do talk a bit. But thats like it. Well, Siok Wei says its ok cause he is a very easy-going person. Oh well. Luckily there were no other intimate games. No passing food with mouth or anything near that. Phew.

I think the best part is that I finally drove to Ah fang for supper! Though I'm not sure if I can remember where it is exactly, but I roughly know where it is. Ok, thats not really the best part. The best part was actually after the camp when I drove Siok Wei and Jas to Lao Di Fang for curry rice! My fave curry rice. Love it big time! And I haven't eaten it in a long while! Wootz! Still love the curry and the rice and the liaos but HATE the parking. Haha. But we were lucky that when we reached, Mustafa's parking lot was kinda empty.

To sum it all up, I'm sleepy and bored. No link but I don't care. My brain is sleeping right now.

Hospital...

Realised that I've been making quite a bit of hospital visits recently. Suddenly, people around me are getting admitted to hospital. It all started off when an uncle from my mother's side got into a car accident and was admitted into hospital. Then it was my maternal grandmother who started to make very frequent visits to the hospital for swells and pain and operations. But I think the 2 that I have most impression of is my uncle, who is my mum's brother and my paternal side cousin.

For my uncle's case, he went for an operation to remove part of his colon. Cancer. 4th stage. Although the colon part is cut off, apparently his liver is infected to. The period when people were hiding from him that the problem is not totally solved till the time he was told by the doctor and broke down was really like a dream to me. I don't know. Don't seem to living in reality. Seeing mum and knowing her, I know it must be devastating. She lost her eldest sister and her father to cancer already, now her brother too. So who's next? Just this thought can send shivers down my spine. This means that it is hereditary? So it is also possible that my mum will get cancer? I don't want to think too much about this. I can't bare to. And I shouldn't worry about things that might not happen. So, choy! Touch wood! Really, I think we should all make the best out of everyday that we have. Just like my uncle would.

For my cousin, I feel more, cause I'm much closer to her. I grew up with her though she is like 8 years older than me. Had an operation to change her heart valve. I remember going to hospital to visit her everyday when I was still working. 1st was when she was admitted to get ready for the operation but was postponed in the end. The first time in my life I see her break down and cry because of the fear and uncertainty. Then, when she had her operation, I had my first visit to the ICU. Seriously, I was very scared and it pained me to see tubes and needles in her. She couldn't really breathe properly n stuff, cause the wound is at the chest. But when she moved her hand from under the blanket and lifted it a little to wave to us, I couldn't control my tears. I wasn't bawling, but tears were threatening to fall and one or two did escape from the corners of my eyes. Everyday, my brother and I would make our way to the ICU to see her. Go in max 3 at a time, and if we walking to the ward itself, we can only go in twos and we had to wash our hands whenever we enter and exit the ward. When she was finally moved to the normal ward, in 1 visit I saw her vomit like twice. Even though she only drank plain water. Mixed feelings really. But luckily, she's doing well, and her MC has ended I suppose, and is back at work. I remember when we went to grandma's house, she couldn't laugh cause it would be painful, but seriously, I kept making her laugh. Haha. Well, at least she can go to work now. And I saw part of her wound. And I was like yikes! Don't let me see it. I scared. Haha. Oh well. May she totally recover in no time and be able to eat seafood and stuff!

I'm not trying to go all emo here, but when Dad told me today that grandma is in hospital again and my mum is there accompanying her, I can't help but think back on all of those and feel a bit down and out. Oh well, I'll be strong and try not to think too pessimistic thoughts. Probably going off to Tan Tock Seng Hospital later to visit grandma, so I shall just sign off here.

Shop shop shop

Back from a shopping trip with yunz today! Very long never met up with her liao, and I really enjoyed myself today. Haha. Think yunz very poor thing, cause she had to put up with all my blabbering today. Haha. Don't know why, but I was in a talkative mode today. She bought some stuff while I didn't for a change. It was always me who bought more stuff. I only splurged when I was at Kino. Haha. Too many magazines to buy. Whoo hoo! Satisfied. Nothing much today. Just some typical us, crapping away. Haha. Oh, and jess dislocated her knee during cheerleading! Haha. Poor jess, stuck at home. Oh well, nothing much today. Looking forward to my buffet treat. Not sure whether I'm looking forward to the Seniors Camp though. Grr.

Updates

Haven't been blogging for a while and every time I read Jenna and Ali's blog, I feel so guilty! Why am I not updating?! Oh well, nothing much happened ever since the day I quit my job. Seriously, I would still be unable to get to sleep if I happen to remember the times at that dreaded job. Oh well, I'm glad it's over now.

Updates in the past week. Baked cookies with Jenna and Ali at my house. Doesn't look all that great but at least it is still edible! And doesn't taste that bad either. Haha. Oh well, I got over the baking craze already and I can happily strike that off my to-do list. Oh, and we did the jigsaw puzzles that I bought from Mini Toons like super long ago. Finally!

On Sunday, went to Grandma's house to celebrate Aunty Pat's 50th birthday! My gosh, I didn't know she was this old. Haha! Before that, went to Orchard with Xin Xin Jie and Audrey Jie and my bro to buy the ever so important birthday gift. In the end we bought a bag costing about 150+ from Braun Buffel. A red bag! Ang Bao. Haha. Well, Aunty Pat likes green, but we decided that she should get something else other then green and I personally think that Aunty Pat likes big bags and bright colours. So the red was decided! And I think she loved it. Hopefully. All the backsides. Oops, I meant cousins, hehe, are paying for it. Except the only 2 younger ones. And we are pulling in Audrey Jie's boyfriend, Mr Ham (thats my nickname for him) to chip in too! Haha. Considering that he is now quite close to the aunts and grandma. Did I mention that I was so suay that day that I just cannot win at mahjong?!! So angry. Haha. Nah, had fun, though I can't win. When the card is nice, someone will win before me. When my cards are ugly, play until the end. Blah! Luckily I got kang luck. Minimised losses from all the um kangs and kangs. Haha. Kang so much that my cousin asked if I was building a fortress. Haha.

And from that mini celebration, I shall proclaim my love for the Crispy Lobster Salad Roll from Ichiban Sushi! My gosh! They rock! And though I know salmon is considered a low grade fish, but I still prefer salmon sashimi to tuna ones! I don't particularly like the texture of tuna sashimi. Oh well, sashimi is expensive!

Tomorrow I'm going bowling! Bowling! Whee! Can't wait for tomorrow. Plus going to do the puzzles that Jenna brought home from my place. Whee!
